A Harvey man was arrested Monday following an incident in which a 17-year-old female was physically assaulted and badly injured.

Just after 8 p.m. Monday evening, law enforcement officers were called to the scene of a fight on 4th street in Harvey. Upon arrival, officers located a woman who was unconscious on the roadway and was bleeding from the mouth and spitting up blood. The victim ultimately had to be flown to Mercy Hospital with potentially serious injuries. Upon investigation, witnesses identified 20-year-old Rylee Van De Boe of Harvey as the person who assaulted the victim. Witnesses said they saw Van De Boe chase the victim on foot before catching her and proceeding to hit her in the face with his fist multiple times, as well as head butt her. Witnesses also said they heard Van De Boe tell the victim she better not be on his property again or she would end up in the hospital.
