The Prairie Wolves offense was too much for the Storm defense to handle on Saturday, as Nebraska Wesleyan took down Simpson in their season finale 42-35.
The Storm were down by 21 at two separate points in the game, including in the fourth quarter, but fought back to get the game within one score with five minutes remaining, but a pair of personal foul penalties extended the Prairie Wolves drive and allowed them to run out the clock. Sam Sasso threw for 354 yards and Cam Bunting ran for 119 including an 86-yarder on the team’s first play from scrimmage for the Storm. Jackson Redmond caught nine passes for 133 yards and Austin Hronich made three grabs for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Simpson ends the season at .500 in both overall and conference play at 5-5 and 4-4, and will graduate 20 seniors from the squad.
