The Pella City Council will review an engineering services agreement to improve the Oost Poort alleyway at their meeting today.

A $150,000 contract with Garden and Associates is under consideration for the infrastructure project expected to begin after Tulip Time 2018 and estimated to cost close to $1,000,000 overall.

In addition, the council will review a resolution approving a preliminary plat for Fairway Meadows at Bos Landen. Vermeer Development is requesting to subdivide two lots consisting of 2.37 acres into seven lots for residential development via preliminary plat to construct single-family attached residential homes.

Following regular business, they will consider expanding the number of special use permits available from two to three in the central business district for bars and taverns. The matter is in the hands of the council after they conditionally approved a liquor license for The Lamp Post lounge, if they could acquire a special use permit – however, there are two currently active, and The Lamp Post does not have one.

The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
