Tulip planting ahead of next year’s Tulip Time festival is nearing completion in the city of Pella.

Pella Historical Society Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten tells KNIA/KRLS News that volunteers and staff have been hard at work, as they have completed the village and are moving to the Scholte Gardens.

Van Kooten says between Pella Historical and the City of Pella, over 200,000 flowers will bloom this coming spring in city beds and parks. The 83rd annual Tulip Time Festival takes place May 3rd through 5th.
