As the temperatures continue to drop, its just a matter of time before residents see winter weather in Marion County.

The Knoxville Police Department wants to remind Knoxville residents about the winter ordinances enforced when snow starts to fall. Knoxville Community Service Officer Arlene Worrall tells KNIA/KRLS News homeowners will have 24 hours after the snow has fallen to have their sidewalks cleared. She says removing the snow and ice from the sidewalks is the homeowner’s responsibility. Worrall says the city tries to make sure any sidewalks in front of a lot that is empty or the city owns is cleared but if residents notice sidewalks that have not been cleared in a timely manner to call the city.
