Recently a Marion County Food Insecurity Roundtable was held at Marion County Public Health to discuss the problems with food availability in Marion County.
Larissa Van Donselaar with Marion County Public Health tells KNIA/KRLS News about 25% of Marion County residents are food insecure which means they don’t know where their next meal will come from on a daily basis. Van Donselaar says she knows finding a solution to food insecurity is a tough task, but she is hoping by having the round table all the food stakeholders now have an idea of the problems each one faces. She hopes they can all start working together to combat the problem.
