A Hamilton man was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles as well as a building and stealing a truck.
30-year-old Joshua Goemaat was arrested following an incident that took place on November 15th. According to court documents, just before 7 a.m. officers responded to a rural Knoxville address for an apparent burglary. Upon arrival officers determined someone had entered several vehicles and used one of the vehicles to gain access to the building. Once inside the building the individual entered a 2017 Ford F550 valued at $90,000 and fled the scene in the truck. Upon reviewing surveillance video and further investigations officers determined Goemaat had walked away from a nearby party wearing identical clothing to the ones worn by the suspect in the surveillance video. Goemaat was identified on the video by friends and witnesses at the party. The Ford F550 was located undamaged in Ankeny. Damage to the building is estimated at $1,500. Goemaat was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary 3rd degree, a class D felony, criminal mischief 2nd degree a class D felony, two counts of operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and driving while suspended. He was booked into the Marion County Jail on $15,000 bond with an initial hearing scheduled for December 7th.
