After making a trip east on Highway 163 Friday night to tangle with Oskaloosa, the Pella Christian basketball teams head west on Monday night for a matchup in Monroe against PCM.

The Mustang girls are 1-2 after Friday’s win over Saydel, while Pella Christian thumped Osky to get to 3-1.

On the boys side, PCM demolished Saydel in their season opener to start 1-0, while P.C. is 0-2 after its loss to the LHC favorites.

Eagles coach Larry Hessing liked the improvement his team made from game one to game two, and says they need to keep that going in game three.

“For us, we need to be better than we were on Friday night. I know that’s kind of coach speak, but we really do. Right now we don’t know what PCM is going to throw at us, especially on the defensive end. So we need to be ready for anything and be ready to adjust on the fly.”
