The Knoxville Basketball Squads recovered nicely from a tough night on Monday to take out their frustrations on Davis County on Tuesday night by winning the girls game 59-23 and the boys easily took out the Mustangs 76-37 heard live on AM 1320 and 95-point-three KNIA.
After a slow start in the first four minutes of the game…the girls closed the first quarter on a 16-2 run to lead 18-8 and were never threatened after that. Katie Keitges scored 24 points to lead the Panthers who are 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the South Central Conference. The boys had their long range shooting on target as they caned 15 three point shots, eight by Jacob Zuck, six of which came in the opening quarter to power Knoxville to a 31-4 lead after eight minutes. Zuck ended up with 24 points to lead Knoxville. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS Sports many of the threes were wide open…and the guys were on target all game. Knoxville is now 4-2 on the season and 4-0 in the South Central Conference tying Eddyville-Blakesburg for first place. Both Panther teams head to Eddyville on Friday.
