On Saturday, December 30th residents will get a chance to help fill food shelf in Marion County by taking part in the New Year’s Resolution Run.
The Resolution Run will begin at 10 a.m. and will begin at the Marion County Park in Knoxville. Both a 5k run and a “Hot Chocolate” walk will be part of the event. Cost is $20, which includes a t-shirt or $15 if attendees bring a non-perishable food item. Co-Organizer of the run and Knoxville High School Student says participants have until 5 p.m. today to have t-shirts ordered. Poundstone says participants can continue to order shirts but they cannot be guaranteed in time for the run. Poundstone along with students Joey Kesteloot and Bailey Vandekamp came up with the idea for the run as a way to help fight hunger in Marion County by filling local food shelves.
