The family and friends of a Sully girl who died of a rare blood disease are asking for the community’s support in remembering her life and legacy.

The 7th annual blood drive in memory of Megan Hoogeveen, a 2011 graduate of Pella Christian, will be held at Pella Christian High School on Friday, December 29th from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. Her father Mike Hoogeveen tells KNIA/KRLS News they are continuing to raise awareness of and funds to fight the rare blood disease that took Megan’s life over six years ago.

Appointments for the Megan’s Legacy blood drive can be made by calling LifeServe at 800-287-4903 or Mike Hoogeveen at 641-780-7043, online at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org, or the events page of www.meganslegacy.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.
