The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man killed in a December 23rd plane crash in Mahaska County.

Bruce Gene Devick, 70, of Marshalltown, died in a single-engine, two-seat airplane that hit power lines near 2082 210th Street north of Oskaloosa Saturday afternoon.

Officials have not determined why the aircraft was flying low at the time of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board is assisting with the investigation.

Oskaloosa Fire, Mahaska Health Partnership Ambulance, Mahaska County Emergency Management, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
