The family and friends of a Sully girl who died of a rare blood disease are helping to make sure her legacy lives on.
The 7th annual blood drive in memory of Megan Hoogeveen, a 2011 graduate of Pella Christian, will be held at Pella Christian High School tomorrow from 2:00 to 7:00 PM.
Her father Mike Hoogeveen tells KNIA/KRLS News the goal of the day is to give back to those that helped his daughter fight HLH, which took her life six years ago. They also plan to raise funds to support Megan’s Legacy and HLH research.
Appointments for the Megan’s Legacy blood drive can be made by calling LifeServe at 800-287-4903 or Mike Hoogeveen at 641-780-7043, online at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org, or the events page of www.meganslegacy.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.
