The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad gets the sole spotlight tonight as the Panthers welcome Creston from the southwestern part of the state for a non-conference game. Knoxville is coming off a 71-49 win over Newton on Saturday, outrebounding the Little Hawkeye Conference leading Cardinals in that department 40-38 and 22-15 on the offensive boards. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS that was key in the win, plus outscoring Newton from the free throw line 24-5. That kind of an effort will be needed tonight when Creston comes in from the Hawkeye Ten Conference. The other Panthers are coming off a one-point setback to Red Oak on Saturday and sport a 4-7 record. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com at 7:30 with Derek Cardwell and John Keitges.
