The Central College basketball teams trekked to Dubuque last night to take on Loras, and arrived back on campus in the wee hours of this morning with two losses to their credit.

In the women’s game, it was the case of a little adding up to a lot. Loras won each of the four quarters by four points or less, but the end result was a 70-59 double digit victory.

Jackie Kriegel led the Dutch with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Jessica Helton and Emily Dine each scored 11. Central drops to 7-9 overall and 2-5 in the Iowa Conference.

The men’s game was a shootout, with the Duhawks shooting 60-percent in the first half to build a 59-41 halftime advantage, and holding on to win 109-92.
