Scoring was at a premium last night for the Pleasantville Trojan boys and girls basketball teams last night at Central Decatur, where the squads were swept by the Cardinals 56-45 and 69-37 respectively.

The girls were jumped on from the beginning with a suffocating Central Decatur press, and were hard pressed to score from the start. The Trojans had 16 points at halftime, and 14 of those were from senior guard Kelsee Van Haalen. Van Haalen ended up with 24 points on the night, but it was too much to overcome from 47 points total from Cardinal stars Emma Atwood and Alli Masters.

On the boys side, a 29-29 halftime score gave way to the Trojans being outscored 27-16 in the second half. Owen Worthington scored 15, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter, and Gauge Van Haalen scored 12. The Trojan girls fall to 5-8, the boys to 9-3, and both teams will next play on Friday hosting Mount Ayr.
