The PCM Boys basketball team survived a late comeback push from South Tama last night to salvage a split, while the girls fell to their eventual first round regional opponent 59-34.

On the boys side, a 6 point lead at half grew to 7 points at the end of the third, and overcame a Trojan run at the end of the game. Jackson Thomas scored 18 points, while Andrew Van Ryswyk had a monster night, scoring 18 points and had 16 rebounds.

On the girls side, a 31 point night Jessica Musgrave was too much to overcome on a bad shooting night for the Mustangs. Regan Freland scored 8 points to lead the team, while junior guard Cameron Wignall led the team with 7 rebounds.

The boys improve to 13-4, the girls fall to 6-12, and both teams will next play on the road tonight at South Hamilton. Tonight’s doubleheader can be heard live on our KNIA2 stream on KNIAKRLS.com, pregame starts at 5:45, and tip-off is at 6pm.
