With no games until Monday…the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad has taken a few days off before getting back into the gym to prepare for the final three games of the regular season. Coming off three straight games that tested the will, nerve, and mental toughness of not only the players and coaches, but also the fans, Panthers Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS he actually welcomes a few days of no games just to let the girls decompress from a three game stretch that saw them beat Chariton on Coaches vs. Cancer night, make “The Comeback” against Eddyville-Blakebsurg, and clinch the outright South Central Conference title against Centerville. Uitermarkt knows the final three regular season opponents starting this Monday with Carlisle will be a good test for his team to be ready for the upcoming regionals. After Carlisle on Monday, Knoxville comes right back on Tuesday night at home against Fairfield, and then closes out the regular season next Thursday night against Winterset.
