The final week of regular season action begins with a road trip to Grimes on Tuesday for the Eagles basketball teams.

Pella Christian’s boys and girls are looking to shape up for what could be deep postseason runs against talented Fillies and Mustangs at DCG Meadows Gymnasium.

In the first meeting between the two, Pella Christian’s girls let a slim half-time lead slip away behind a 15-0 DCG run in the 3rd quarter in an eventual 52-42 loss. Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says now that the team is getting healthy, it’ll need to be tested and improve against a great Fillies defense.

Two overtimes settled the score in favor of the Eagles 57-54 when they hosted the Mustangs on January 9th. They will look to bounce back from a 22 point loss to No. 2 in 1A Van Meter Saturday. Coverage from Grimes begins at 5:15 p.m. on KRLS2 at kniakrls.com, with Andrew Schneider and Mike Buchheit calling the action. Varsity action will start at 5:30 due to potential snow this evening.
