Three swimmers from Pella will compete in the Iowa High School Boys State Swimming meet in Iowa City.

Caleb Gaylor, Carter Briggs, and Jacob Nedder all qualified as part of the Newton-Colfax-Mingo-Pella (NCMP) Swim Team. Gaylor is currently ranked first in the 50 free and 6th in the 100 fly. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his main focus will be to improve on his times from the district meet, but also would be ecstatic if he could find himself a top the medal podium at the end of the day.

“A year ago, if you would have told me that I would be ranked first going into the state meet, I would have not believed you, because I missed state last year and I went from nothing to this,” he says. “I don’t even know how I did it, I think it’s just all because of my great coaches and all the training and time they’ve put into me, and I’m so grateful for that.”
