Pella Regional Health Center adds over $33 million to Marion County’s local economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association.

The hospital and clinics generate 682 jobs that add $25.1 million to the economy. In addition, Pella Regional’s employees contribute more than $6.8 million in retail sales and more than $413,900 in sales tax. Overall, according to the study, the health sector has a total impact of $110 million in Marion County with 2,241 total employees working in the field.

The study was compiled from hospital-submitted data on the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals and with software that other industries have used to determine their economic impact.
