Knoxville Wrestler Cody Ray Smith made it official by signing with William Penn University yesterday to continue his wrestling career. Smith had a great senior season going 37-11 getting runner up at the Southern Iowa Classic, which combined South Central and Southeast Conference teams, second at sectionals and just missing state with a third place at the district. Smith tells KNIA/KRLS his senior season gave him a lot of confidence that he could take his talents to the next level. Smith wrestled mainly 160 pounds this season. He says his goal next season at William Penn is to make the stating ten for the Statesmen.
