One of the newest members of the Iowa High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame will join us tonight on the Marion County PM Sports Page on KNIA & KRLS.

Pierce Hibma, who graduated from Pella High School in 2003, was inducted into the basketball wing on championship night last Friday.

Now an Emergency Room Doctor in North Carolina, Hibma says that the things he learned as a member of the Little Dutch have carried forward to this day.

“If kids are listening, make sure you realize this is an opportunity to develop skills like work ethic, teamwork, accountability and leadership. If you can do that on a high school sports level, you can do that in any arena.”

Hibma is still Pella’s career leader in scoring, and has the most assists in school history as well. He says that he hopes that someone comes along soon to break those records.

You can hear the full interview with Hibma on tonight’s Marion County PM Sports Page, which starts at 6:00 on KNIA & KRLS.
