A Des Moines man was arrested in Marion County on Wednesday on drug and resisting arrest charges.

According to court documents, the Knoxville Police Department pulled over Jessie Teah for speeding, and after noticing a strong smell of marijuana and visible drug paraphernalia in the car officers searched the vehicle. The search produced a baggie of marijuana weighing over 100 grams, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia. After placing Teah under arrest, Teah began to struggle and resist getting into the patrol car, and an officer sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Teah was ultimately charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class-B felony, interference with official acts-inflicting bodily injury, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding.
