In a final tune up before the regular season starts next week the Pella Christian and PCM girls’ soccer teams clashed for a scrimmage on Thursday night.

The Eagles scored a pair of goals in the first half and both defenses hung tough the rest of the way for Pella Christian to finish with the 2-0 win. Despite the loss, head coach of the Mustangs Bill Sowder tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he thought the team played well with a lot of junior varsity players seeing a lot of action. Last year Pella Christian bested PCM in the playoffs by a 10-0 final score and Sowder was pleased with the progress made against a good team.

The Mustangs will officially start their season Monday traveling to Centerville and the Eagles host Des Moines Christian.
