The PCM soccer teams get back on the pitch to face Centerville Monday and look to build off momentum gained from last week.

After losing to Pella Christian 10-0 last year in the playoffs, the lady Mustangs looked much improved on the defensive end on Thursday falling to the Eagles 2-0 in a scrimmage. Head Coach Bill Sowder tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he was pleased with the team’s effort and being able to get a lot of players some minutes. Centerville is coming off a 1-12 campaign last year and lost five players to graduation.

The Mustang boys’ also showed growth in their season opener against an Eagle team that won 10 games in 2017, falling in an instant classic 2-1 in double overtime. Misha Seebeck picked up right where he left off a year ago with a goal with eight minutes left in regulation. The Mustangs will look to jump on the Big Reds that won two games last season and lost their top two scorers.

The girls’ game gets started at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow with the boys to follow in Centerville.
