Well-below normal temperatures are expected to continue over the next week as a cold air mass dominates the central part of the country.

According to the National Weather Service long term forecast, a high chance of below average air temperatures is expected to continue through the middle of the month. Wind chills are expected to be bitter Wednesday morning, as they drop to the single digits in Marion County and the surrounding area, and daytime highs aren’t expected to top 50 degrees through the weekend. Record lows may be broken as well, as the previous mark is from 2002 at 15 degrees Wednesday.
