The South Central Conference Academic Bowl was Friday at Celebrate Church in Knoxville.

Each South Central Conference school was allowed two teams to participate in the Jeopardy like competition, with the final eight teams advancing through the morning session to the afternoon single elimination bracket. Organizer and team coach Lisa Hermsen tells KNIA/KRLS News the academic bowl is about so much more than the competition itself, it is about building relationships with not only your teammates but other schools as well, and is a morale booster for students and the school while being being a ton of fun. Both Knoxville teams made it to the elimination round, but were knocked out in the quarterfinals. The Chariton Red team was the winner of the event.
