The Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Diabetes Center has received a four-year accreditation renewal from the American Diabetes Association.

The recognition is a voluntary process which assures the diabetes education programs meet the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management programs. The programs include nutritional management, physical activity, medications monitoring, management during pregnancy, and psychological adjustment among others. According to the CDC, approximately 175,000 adult Iowans have been informed they have diabetes.
