Slick conditions are possible throughout the region this morning after overnight snow and ice.

Residents are reminded to exercise caution on area roadways after another round of winter precipitation fell late Sunday afternoon through early this morning. The Iowa Department of Transportation reports area roadways are partially snow, ice, or slush covered and may be slick. State and county crews are in operation. There are reports of accidents in the area.

Another record for cold was broken Saturday morning as a winter-like stretch invades the early spring in south central Iowa. A low of 14 degrees was recorded in Knoxville, breaking the previous Marion County record of 16 set in 1936.

Much warmer weather is on the way this week, with highs moving to the upper 60s by Wednesday and staying there through Friday. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest weather information.
