The Pleasantville track teams made the long haul to Bedford on Monday night for their final Pride of Iowa Conference meet and the boys went out with a bang claiming first place and the girls finished fifth.
The Trojans claimed their second straight conference title with 129 points while Mount Ayr finished second with 119 points. Hunter Tyree continued to show his dominance in the conference, as he won both the 400m (52.56) and 200m (22.93) dash by .06 seconds. Gauge Van Haalen also won a pair of events with titles in the 110m hurdles (15.6) and 400m hurdles (58.05). The 4x100m relay team also nabbed first place honors with a conference record time of 44.45 seconds.
The girls placed fifth with 60 points while Mount Ayr claimed their third consecutive conference title with 148 points. The Trojans had a pair of second place finishes included Kasey Pelzer in the 100m (13.57) and Kylee Van Haalen-Brown in the discus (95 feet).
The Trojans will get back at it tomorrow traveling to Newton.
