The Pleasantville boys’ and girls’ golf team competed in their final Pride of Iowa Conference meet yesterday and went out with a pair of top five finishes.
The girls’ competed in Mount Ayr and placed fifth out of eight teams with 471 strokes in the 18-hole meet. The host Raiders took the conference crown with 401. Tess Ray led the Trojans with a 105 and Abby DeJoode cashed in on a 112. Other scoring included Grace Stephens with 122, Jamison Ceradsky with 132, and Breanna Benge with a non-counting 135.
The Trojan boys competed at East Union and also nabbed fifth with a final tally of 371 strokes while Mount Ayr took home the title with 357. Colt Stewart cracked the top 10 finishing 10th with a 90 and Caleb Adreon was not far behind with a 92 to place 14th. Other Trojan scoring included Isaac Roe with 93 and Mitch Harken with 96. Hunter Oliva and Ben Mott had non-counting scores of 103 and 119, respectively.
The boys are back on the links tomorrow at Nodaway Valley and the girls are off until next Friday when they travel to Knoxville.
