A Harvey man was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday, including abandonment/neglect of a dependent person after an incident involving an ATV on April 25th.

According to court documents, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an ATV being driven in a reckless manner with a passenger on the back. Multiple witness statements identified the driver as Shane Gall, age 32 of Harvey. A search of the area eventually led to the ATV being pulled over, where it was revealed the passenger on the back was only 15-years-old. During the traffic stop, Gall gave a false name to the officer and refused to produce a driver’s license, despite being informed it was illegal to operate an ATV on the roadways without one.

Gall then drove off during the traffic stop and initially eluded police by driving into a field before eventually being apprehended Tuesday. Gall’s drivers license is currently revoked for refusing an OWI test, and he has had his license suspended multiple times in the past. Gall was charged with abandonment/neglect of a dependent person, a class C felony, driving while revoked, operation without ignition interlock, reckless driving, violation of probation, and interference with official acts.
