Local law enforcement officials recently attended a three day conference in Cleveland about the national opioid crisis.

Marion County Attorney Ed Bull, Assistant County Attorney Jared Harmon, Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada, and Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky attended the conference put on by the National District Attorney’s Association. Chief Losada tells KNIA/KRLS News that this national crisis still affects those of us in Marion County because we have had some accidental overdose deaths due to opioids, but as of now they are still hopefully staying ahead of the game enough to prevent the crisis from getting worse.

Losada also said that the conference was very educational, and that a plan of action within the county to combat the crisis will be available soon.
