Multiple tornado warnings were issued in Marion County minutes after events for Tulip Time in Pella were cancelled due to inclement weather Thursday evening.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was live on the air at 7:25 until 8:30 for four different warnings impacting the northern half of Marion County. Four members of the KNIA/KRLS Staff were live in Knoxville and at the Tulip Time festival in Downtown Pella, providing live updates throughout the storm. Tornado touchdowns were spotted near Swan, Prairie City, Lake Red Rock, and Hartford, according to trained weather spotters and the National Weather Service. Heavy rainfall fell throughout some of the warned areas as well.
