Just a few days after their final Pride of Iowa Conference meet, the Pleasantville track teams will get back in action tonight when they travel to Newton.

Both teams are coming off of their conference meet on Monday at Bedford including the boys standing atop of the Pride of Iowa Conference for the second straight year. Hunter Tyree won both the 100m and 200m dash and currently holds the sixth fastest time in class 2A in the 100m (11.11 seconds). Gauge Van Haalen looks to build off a pair of conference titles in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles.

The girls finished fifth on Monday’s meet. Kasey Pelzer and Kylee Van Haalen-Brown had a pair of second place finishes. Pelzer has recorded the fastest time in the 100m in the conference (13.05) and Van-Haalen-Brown’s heave of 104’2’’ in the discus is second in the league.

All of the action gets started at 4 p.m. in Newton.
