Today is the beginning of Pella’s biggest annual tradition.
Tulip Time has officially started throughout the community. Day one of the festival features the Queen and Royal Court coronation at the Tulip Toren beginning at 1 p.m., the first Volks parades at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., as well as tours of the community, Pella Opera House, and Pella Historical Village throughout the day, with food stands open. Steering Committee Chair Paul Jones says tonight’s Grandstand entertainment at 7 p.m. features Bridge Worship of Ottumwa performing, which is free to attend.
