Pella High School track and field athletes will be will represented at the state meet next week in Des Moines.
The Lady Dutch won their fifth consecutive district title, and the boys their fourth, by scoring the most points at the state qualifying meet at Pella High School Thursday night. Pella’s girls have 15 automatic qualifiers, and the boys have 10 — meaning those athletes and events placed in the top two of their races or field events.
Knoxville’s girls have six events heading to state, including sophomore Katie Keitges winning all three distance races and as a part of the distance medley relay team.
Pella Christian will have at least total of nine events at Drake Stadium next Thursday through Saturday. Schools will learn later today if they have more student-athletes qualifying based on having the best eight times after automatic qualifiers.
