The at-large bids for the 2018 Iowa High School Track and Field State Meet were released yesterday afternoon and numerous area athletes qualified for the Blue Oval.

In addition to automatic qualifiers, Knoxville girls had Abbey Jackson qualify in the 200m. The boys added the 4x400m relay team and Alex Buckley in the shot put.

Pella boys had Tony Schmitz qualify in the 800m, Jordan Buma in the 110 hurdles, and 4x400m relay. The Lady Dutch added Roselande Vanderhoff in the 100m, Ashley Blommers in the 400m, Emily Holterhaus in the 100m hurdles, and Elsie Thoreson in the 400m hurdles.

Pella Christian girls had Mary Kate Bandstra make the 200m field. Pella Christian boys had Noah Treimer in the 200m, 4x200m, 4x400m, sprint medley, and distance medley relay teams.

PCM boys added one event to the state meet and that was Beau Webb in the 1600m.

Pleasantville’s Thomas Ragan made the 200m and the girls added Kasey Pelzer in the 100m.

Ethan Harrington for Melcher-Dallas made the 400m boys and J’Lyn Knutson made the 3000m and 1500m girls run.

Twin Cedars boys had Nick Haselhuhn make the field in the 200m.
