For the third straight year the PCM boys’ golf team stands atop of their sectional meet, as they blew by competition yesterday in Pleasantville.
The Mustangs claimed first place in the 18-hole meet with a 321, 15 strokes better than second place Albia. Four of the top five spots belonged to PCM led by medalist runner-up Jackson Thomas with a 79. Dayton Boell shot an 80 while Noah Lanphier and Reed Worth tied for fourth with matching scores of 81.
The host Trojans did not qualify for districts as a team, but Colt Stewart and Caleb Adreon are moving on after posting scores of 87 and 89, respectively. Pella Christian was also in attendance and Cole Webster led them with a 104.
The Mustangs, Stewart, and Adreon hope to keep their season going next Friday at Panorama for the class 2A districts. The Eagles close out the 2018 campaign Monday hosting a meet.
