Knoxville Hospital and Clinics awarded nurse Rachel Davis with the DAISY award last week, to recognize her dedication to the nursing profession, patients, and their family members.
Davis, who works in Wound Care, has worked at the hospital for 15 years, and will be recognized at the Mercy Health Network of Central Iowa’s CEO meeting in June.
Part of Rachel’s nomination read, “Every day Rachel goes above and beyond for every one of her patients. Wound care can be a very scary, painful, and intimidating for patients, but she makes all her patients feel relaxed and at ease in her care.
The DAISY Award, named for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System,” is an annual nursing award given throughout the nation as part of the DAISY Foundation. At Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, it is given during the annual service awards ceremony every May.
