The Pella City Council will hold a public hearing for a proposed ordinance restricting the sale of fireworks in the community at their meeting this evening.
The ordinance, if approved, would limit their sales to industrial zones, which city staff says are more prepared to handle potential fires and don’t have the same type of design restrictions that commercial properties do.
Resolutions to work with Civil Design Advantage for engineering services for Phase II of the Pella Sports Park and with Snyder and Associates for the Oskaloosa Street Corridor Redevelopment Plan are both under consideration. Following regular business, the council will review the city’s sidewalk inspection plan and discuss moving the proposed Vermeer Trail from the west to east side of 240th Pl due to the discovery of a water main.
The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7:00 this evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
