The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad ran off with the lead late in the game in a nine-to-five victory over Grand View Christian on Friday. The game was tied at three with Melcher-Dallas batting in the bottom of the fifth when Emilie Krpan grounded out, scoring one run. Grand View Christian got things moving in the first inning, and after the Thunder scored two runs in the top of the second, The Saints answered with two of their own. The game was close until Melcher-Dallas broke it open with seven runs in the fifth. Krpan led the Saints to victory on the rubber, surrendering five runs on nine hits over seven innings, and striking out six. Offensively Kynser Reed went 2/3 at the plate to lead Melcher-Dallas in hits.
