On the strength of two All-American performances, the Central College men’s track and field team finished in 12th place at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships this weekend in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Will Daniels started the weekend for Central with a third-place finish in the decathlon, scoring six points for the Dutch. Mark Fairley then added 10 points with his national championship in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

The Dutch tied with Iowa Conference rival Dubuque with 16 points, while Mount Union scored 36 to win the men’s national title. George Fox and UMASS Boston shared the women’s title with 44 points apiece.
