There are few individual accomplishments more rewarding in sports than tossing a no-hitter in baseball. Pleasantville’s Kyle Amendt can check that feat off his bucket list, as Monday he put zeros across the board in a 4-0 win over Lenox.
The senior hurler’s masterful performance resulted in seven shutout innings without giving up a hit and mowing down 13 Lenox batters. Rightfully so, Amendt cherished the moment Monday after he threw the game of his life. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the atmosphere after the final out was full of encouragement. He noted that head coach Sheldon Card gave him the game ball and he immediately ran over to give it to his mom, a moment he soon wouldn’t forget.
Amendt has led a deep and talented pitching staff with a 1.17 ERA in 18 innings of work. His Trojans will get back on the diamond today traveling to Interstate 35.
