Certified child passenger safety technician Chelsea Kingery, partnered with the Knoxville Police Department, is hosting a free car seat installation safety check clinic on June 16th.

Kingery tells KNIA/KRLS News that misuse of carseats is as high as 90%, so it was important for her to get educated on the subject, and now she wants to share that knowledge on how to keep kids safe. Kingery also said that there are some common and easy to fix mistakes that she can help parents learn at the clinic like how to interpret the owner’s manual, how tight the straps should be, and at what point your child has outgrown the carseat and needs a new one. The car seat check clinic will be in the city parking lot next to the Knoxville Police Department and the Knoxville Fire Department, and run from 3-5pm.
