Missed chances on offense and a big blast from an Oskaloosa freshman were the difference when the Pella softball team fell to the No. 6 ranked Indians 4-0, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS Friday night.

Osky Pitcher Hayle Hacker lifted off with a massive three-run homerun over the scoreboard at PHS in the 2nd inning, and the lefty was able to strand 10 Pella runners in the shutout effort.

Head Coach Teresa Thompson says the Lady Dutch are getting close to competing with some of the top teams, but still have work to do in key situations.

Maddie Parks of Pella struck out five in seven innings in the losing effort. The Lady Dutch are 7-8.

Pella pitching had trouble containing the Oskaloosa offense in a 17-4 loss to the Indians. Osky scored six runs in the top of the 4th and eight runs in the top of the 5th to blow by the Little Dutch. Pella falls to 5-5. Both the softball and baseball teams are in action at DCG Monday night.
