A rear-end accident closed off northbound traffic on Highway T-15 northeast of Knoxville for over a half-hour this afternoon.

At approximately 4:20 pm, a silver sedan traveling southbound rear-ended a dump truck taking a right hand turn near the 1200 block of Highway T-15. The driver of the sedan refused treatment, and was driven from the scene by a different vehicle, while the driver of the dump truck escaped with minor apparent whiplash injuries. The damage to the car was significant, while the dump truck had a broken tail light and small oil leak. The Knoxville Rural Fire Department, Knoxville Fire Department, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
