The Pleasantville School Board met in regular session Tuesday evening.

Superintendent Tony Aylsworth presented information regarding sources of facility funding, including the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy and the School Infrastructure Local Option sales tax. These sources of funding may be used for facility construction, repairs, buses, and technology over $500. Aylsworth reports the total balance of both funds is approximately $487,000. He shared ideas regarding potential future building and remodeling projects, noting one priority is the need for the board to decide whether to rebuild or remodel the high school within the next 15-20 years. Aylsworth tells KNIA/KRLS News he is pleased with the boards direction for the school district, especially making everyone feel as if they can provide a voice which will happen in August where the whole staff can participate in a new strategic planning, goal setting, and visioning process.

They considered vehicle replacement needs, resignations and new appointments, and agreed to enter into an approximately $99,000 three-year lease-to-own agreement with Apple for iPads with keyboards for grades 5 through 8, among other technology expenditures.

They approved elementary school furniture expenditures of approximately $12,000, approved a bid for elementary playground equipment for $106,000, and Phase 1 of a remodel for classroom fixtures, sinks, and plumbing replacement for $25,000 among other items.
