The Pleasantville City Council met in regular session Monday.

City Administrator Joe Mrstik announce the receipt of a grant of $4,500 from the Marion County Community Foundation for park lighting. The council discussed issues related to abandoned and dilapidated properties. City Administrator Mrstik will provide a list of those properties for council to consider potential actions at a future date. They approved a full time police officer, moving one officer from 4 days a week to five. They also approved salary increases of 3% for select positions, a budget amendment, local option sales grant applications for nearly $15,000, and seal quote bids for parts of Jasper and other streets. They approved change orders for Shadle Park improvements, partial payments for those improvements, and an agreement with Snyder and Associates regarding the Jasper Street Reconstruction. Partial payment of approximately $450,000 was made for the wastewater treatment plant, with an estimated completion date by the end of the year. They also approved changes to the Employee Handbook, among other items.
